Week 9 - Burn & Dodge

Many of the pictures from my trip are very washed out, and overexposed. I played with the burn tool on this shot, and in the bottom one I tried to get some more contrast. I found that although you can change the exposure level of the tool, it was still kind of hard to control and I think that although the color is restored, it may be too dark in some areas, but when I went back to dodge some of the areas, it was too obvious and way lighter. These tools will take some practice but I think they can be effective.

  1. Rachael,

I really like what you did with the burner and

the filters. One photo, the top, appears to be

a paint by number. This could be great if you

want to decorate a child's room from a photo.

The other photo exemplifies how tools can

increase the contrast and density of a photo

if it has lackluster. I would have replied

sooner but your new posts did not show on the

main page of the CCV Digital Photography page.

    Great Job Angel Michaels

  2. I would have replied sooner as well...to everyone...but every time I try to access the pages through CCV, my pages freeze...Anyone else having trouble?
I too noticed that dodge/burn was too noticable for some fixing....but ok to use for many of the smaller fixes that needed to be done.
