I took these pictures of a chair in my house this afternoon. I really like this assignment because it lets you explore an everyday object, and look at it from angles that you wouldn't normally see it from. I like the bottom image better because it is a little more abstracted and you can apreciate the craft that went into the chair because this brings the viewer close and you are looking at a part of a chair that you generally would have your back against.
I really love the lighting on the first one, the shine of the wood gives off a very comforting feel. I definitely agree with you on the second one, though, the picture is very interactive and it takes you a moment to realize what it is.
ReplyDeleteI Agree with Sarah. The lighting is sweet in the first photo. I love how you can see the scratches and dings in the wood. I also love how you can see the shadow of the other dowels, how they are curvy from the contour of the chair. I like the composition of the second one. Ithink if you stopped down the aperature a little bit you could have had closer to the same type of lighting like in the first photo.
ReplyDeleteGreat Job, -CJ Plante-
The light on the top chair photos is very well captured, I really like it. It is cool that you took a simple object that most people don't think twice about and showed it in a whole different perspective.

ReplyDeleteRachal,
ReplyDeleteI think both of the shots are great. I see that balance is involved in the two as well.
The sheen on the top picture really emanates the look of the wood and an indication that your settings were just right. Great Job!
